illuminated
art

I make small visual experiments as artworks, usually in the form of small illuminated boxes and lamps. For their particular visual properties, most depend on optical effects such as laser speckle, fluorescence, or color contrast. Practically all of them change slowly with time, and have more color saturation and dynamic range than can be captured by most cameras. For these reasons, they are pretty much unphotographable: pictures don't really capture what they actually look like.

With those warnings,  here are some photos.

Here's a short interview where I explain my work.

I also make things like the color wand, the laser fountain, and the Micro Rhythm Orchestra...

Thanks for looking.
